Originally born and raised in the United Kingdom, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry with a minor in Business Administration and Pharmacology from the University of Vermont before graduating Magna Cum Laude from the Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine with his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. During dental school, he received the highly competitive Health Professions Scholarship Program scholarship through the United States Army, reflecting both his academic excellence and dedication to service.

Following dental school, Dr. Cason completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. As the Department of Defense's only Level I Trauma Center, the program provides extensive experience treating complex facial injuries and performing advanced surgical procedures. During his residency, Dr. Cason served as Chief Resident and achieved a score in the 96th percentile on the nationwide Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery In-Service Training Examination. He also became board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the earliest opportunity available.

He also served as an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, where he mentored more than 30 residents pursuing advanced dental education.

In recognition of his outstanding surgical achievements, Dr. Cason was inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) in 2025.
